Whitelady House is a large country retreat, accommodating up to 12 guests in style & comfort. This private house is ideal for exclusive anniversary or birthday celebrations, wedding and hen parties, reunions, family get-togethers or just for that special holiday. The house has been renovated and lovingly refurbished, exuding style and character with oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and exposed stone work, whilst retaining a homely, relaxed atmosphere.

We provide a memorable venue for a fun & relaxing house party, either self-catering or catered. As an alternative to self catering we can remove the burden of preparing and cooking for a large group by providing a fully catered service where we will create and serve meals at the house. Sit back and enjoy the company of friends & family, while we arrange everything for you.

Situated close to Tavistock, down a private drive, the huge expanse of Dartmoor is 100yds from the entrance, and the National Trust's Lydford Gorge is at the bottom of the garden.

We will welcome you to the property and answer any questions you may have and explain some of the house rules such as operating the hot tub and the rubbish collection etc as well as giving any information you would like on the local walking from the house etc, after that we are at the end of the phone and live about 5 miles away, so any problems we can come out and sort but you have the property to yourselves we do not live on site. We will call each day to check the hot tub for you.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Carol (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
