A hallway with stone staircase takes you up to the first floor where there are six en-suite bedrooms, three doubles and three twins that can be made up as doubles. All of the upper floor windows offer lovely views while one of the large double bedrooms has a fireplace and a door out to its very own terrace with steps down to the garden. All bedrooms have beamed ceilings and there are terracotta floors throughout the house. Furnishings are 18th and 19th century antiques adding to the character of this beautiful holiday home.

The property is surrounded by its own gardens, which feature a delightful private salt-water swimming pool (15m x 7m x 2m deep at the deepest point).

This is a lovely area for touring and relaxing. Trips to Florence can be taken by train from Pontedera if you fancy leaving the car behind for the day, and you can easily reach Pisa, Lucca, Volterra and San Gimignano and the central Tuscan hills by road.

Badia di Morrona produces some great wines together with an excellent extra virgin olive oil, which you can purchase from the estate. Don’t miss the delicious wine tasting together with a visit to the impressive winery located in the village of Morrona just over a mile from the farmhouse. Horse riding can be found within the grounds.

With a thousand acres of estate land there are many footpaths and lanes to explore, a haven for wild flower lovers and bird watchers alike. You may be fortunate enough to hear nightingales sing whilst you sit outside for your evening barbecue and keep a look out for the delightful ‘lucciole’ (fireflies), which twinkle about under the trees after dark.

At Il Forno, approximately 300m from Villa Lisa, there is a great restaurant belonging to the estate. Normally open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy delicious Tuscan feasts. A full meal consisting of a starter, first course, second course, dessert, coffee and estate wine is just €25 per person! There are also several other restaurants in the area serving fantastic local food and wine, as well as a supermarket just a 5-10 minute drive away.

Please Note: Heating is charged locally by meter. A security deposit of €300 is payable. Cot available on request.
