You must be wondering about the name; My Dad aka Mr.Grump owns the apartment, hence the name.

The Grumpartment is a neat house in Annamalai Nagar, Trichy. The place is nice and relatively calm even though its in the city. You can see a lot of green around the house.

We have 3 air conditioned bedrooms. The house is fully netted to prevent mosquitoes and insects from getting in. We provide all basic ammeneties including a refrigerator, stove, microwave, washing machine, free wifi internet, etc.

The Grumpartment has 3 Air Conditioned bedrooms with attached western style toilets. Hot water is available 24/7 powered by a big 500litre solar water heater. Each bedroom has two beds. Each bed in the first two bedrooms are 4 feet wide and 6.5 feet long. The third bed room has two single beds. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, a traditional wooden clothes hanger and plenty of coat hangers. The first two bedrooms have a laptop friendly workspace (i.e. a working table and chair with multiple electric plug points). There is also a common laptop workspace in the dining room.

The entire house is netted to prevent mosquitoes and other insects from getting in.

We had a power crisis in Tamil Nadu for a couple of years; in some seasons we used to have 14 hours of power cuts every day. But now the power situation in Tamil Nadu is much better. Nowadays we have occasional power cuts in Trichy. The Grumpartment has a powerful generator to support the entire building including the air conditioners, television, microwave, etc. So you don't need to worry about power cuts.

The Living room has a comfortable couch and a HD LED TV with a TATA SKY ultimate (all channels) dish TV connection. The couch can seat 5 guests. We provide about 12 extra chairs for extra guests.

The dining hall has a table that can seat 6 people. If you have extra guests you can always use the additions chairs or stools present in the house. We also provide cutlery, plates, bowls, etc.

The kitchen has a good stove and a gas cylinder, a refrigerator, a mixy, electric water kettle, toaster, microwave, big wet grinder, etc. A whole lot of cookware and other utensils are also provided. The kitchen also has a small service room with a traditional stone ammikal (a stone crushing or grinding thingy that can be used to make chutneys and masalas.) House cleaning equipment is kept in the service room.

We have two balconies; the front balcony adjacent to the Living room and the back balcony adjoining the dining room & kitchen. The back balcony has an Indian style toilet and bathroom. The washing machine and laundry box is kept in the back balcony. The back balcony can be used to dry clothes: clothes drying lines and plenty of clips are provided.

The Grumpartment has two covered car parks inside the premises. Additional vehicles can be parked inside the premises but won’t have covered parking.

CCTV cameras are present outside the building for security purposes.

The house is on the first floor. So you have to climb around 20 steps to get to it. Unfortunately we don't have a lift and the house is not wheelchair accessible.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Keerthivasan (the owner) a message.

If Keerthivasan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
