From the owner

Secluded on three acres at the top of the mountain. Breathtaking, long-range mountain views from over 3600 ft. elevation can be enjoyed from the two levels of wraparound decks with hot tub and rockers. Two story wall of windows on main level to further enjoy the views. Beautifully decorated. The majority of the furnishings are hand crafted, solid wood from the local area. Beautiful, newly refinished wood floors on main level. Brand new laminate flooring in basement. Wood-burning custom stone fireplace. One bedroom and one full bath on each of the three levels. Kitchenette and living area in basement, making the lower level almost like a separate home. (Ideal for two families traveling together or when privacy is wanted/needed.) Pool table. Free-standing 60 classic game arcade machine. Two, large, flat screen TVs with satellite. Internet access with wifi. Picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. Full size washer and dryer. Lake Nantahala is at the bottom of the road (approximately 3/4 mile from chalet) and we are only about five minutes from the marina where you can rent boats and kayaks and eat in the restaurant. (The marina and restaurant are seasonal.) Close to whitewater rafting on the world famous Nantahala River. Approximately 45 minutes to Murphy and approximately 45 minutes to Franklin. The Bartram Trail is less than five minutes away and offers beautiful scenery and great hiking. Horseback riding nearby. Approximately 45 minutes to the new Harrah's Casino in Murphy. Truly a relaxing and memorable getaway. Plenty to do very nearby, or plenty to keep you occupied if you don't want to leave the chalet. Due to our remote locations, we do not get a cell signal in the chalet. (We do at the gas station and marina approx. 5 mins. away.) We have a landline with free calls in the continental U.S. and an answering machine. Check in and check out times may be flexible depending on reservations before/after yours. Please contact us concerning early check in or late check out. Absolutely no smoking inside the chalet, please.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send John or Melissa (the owner) a message.

If John or Melissa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
