With two bedrooms, kitchen/living room heated by wood-burning stove, shower room/toilet and outdoor barbecue the chalet contains all that you will need for your stay including towels and bedding. It stands on a grassy meadow in 64 acres (24 ha.) of mainly oak forest shared with one other house. The estate includes vineyard, overgrown olive groves, chestnut forest, pastures with wild herbs and flowers and a small lake (30m x 25m).
Located in the Upper Tiber Valley, 22km from Città di Castello and Umbertide, less than an hour from Arrezo and Perugia, Carpina is perfect for relaxing, get away from it all breaks, for walking or mountain biking and as a base from which to visit the many beautiful hilltowns of the area. With patience and a little luck wild animals including boar, deer, owl, hare, porcupine or owls may be heard or glimpsed at dawn or dusk close to the chalet itself. Cherries, plums, figs, grapes, mushrooms, walnuts, hazelnuts, and chestnuts are all to hand, in season.

Spring and summer evenings can be pretty special, with fireflies, owls, and the frog chorus from the lake. April and May are glorious with the chalet surrounded by yellow meadow flowers and juniper bushes amongst trees in a million shades of green while Autumn mornings often find Carpina bathed in sunshine while the valley below remains shrouded in mist.
PLEASE NOTE: As parts of the 900m track are difficult for some vehicles I will meet you on arrival and can transport luggage, shopping and young children to and from the chalet if you wish to park your car at the top of the track. Alternatively I can show you how to drive to the chalet. In case of snow or heavy rain, non 4x4s should park at the top of the track.
