Description

This is stylishly furnished, spacious and bright apartment in a 400-year-old building. It has recently been renovated to the highest standards - nothing is left out. The large windows overlook everyone's favourite square right in the heart of ancient, historic Uzes, while the bedrooms open out on a quiet square at the back of the building and overlook the Church St Etienne (the bells don't ring though!)

This is a unique apartment in that it is not a mere holiday rental but my home, and therefore your potential home-away-from-home with all the comforts of such...

There are two double bedrooms with kingsize beds (memory-foam mattresses) one of which can be made into twin-beds. There are two modern bathrooms with large walk-in showers, an extremely well-equipped kitchen with place settings for up to 6-8 people... There's original art on the walls, an extensive library with inspirational books on food, design, art, travel and architecture, classic literature, and many good films on DVD.

The large windows open out on a beautiful vista with its plane trees, its fountain and people enjoying a drink in the dappled shade. And sometimes, during lunchtimes in summer, you can pretend that those serenading musicians sing just for you!

Finally, since Uzes is an architecturally protected town, we are not allowed air-conditioning units in the historic centre. However, I have installed colonial style ceiling fans in all the rooms for coolness in summer - a far more comfortable solution than air conditioning as you can keep the windows open! There is also a super-efficient heating system to ensure the apartment is cosy and warm in winter.

Getting around

No real need for a car as Uzes is linked to Nimes and Avignon by public transport. However, with a car you will be able to explore further afield - first to discover the Camargue with its wild horses, the medieval walled city of Aigues Mortes with its salt pans and flamingos... The little-known but spectacular Cevennes mountains with world-class views, its chestnut forests and open plains but also its ancient traditions of silk and ceramic and leather productions and its 26.000 year old cave drawings of Chauvet.. Otherwise there's the unpredictable bohemian and arty town of Arles, the beautiful Provencal towns of Les Baux, Rousillon and Gordes with its hidden suprises... You can visit all of this on easy day-trips from Uzes...

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Petra (the owner) a message.

If Petra (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
