This stylishly furnished, spacious and bright apartment is in a 400-year-old building. It has recently been renovated to the highest standards - nothing has been forgotten. The large windows in the lounge overlook the fountain in the famous Place aux Herbes, right in the heart of ancient, historic Uzes, while the bedrooms look out on a quiet square and the 17th century St Etienne church (don't worry the bells only ring on the morning of Easter Sunday!)

There are two double bedrooms with king-size beds and memory-foam mattresses - one of which can be made into twin-beds. There are two modern bathrooms with large walk-in showers as well as a separate second toilet. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with every imaginable tool (including toaster, kettle, Sodastream, electric mixers and whisks etc etc) and with place settings, cutlery, glassware and oven dishes for up to 6-8 people... There's original art on the walls, an extensive library with inspirational books on food, design, art, travel and architecture, classic literature, and many good films on DVD.
The large lounge windows open out on a beautiful vista with its plane trees, its fountain and the gentle murmur of people enjoying a drink in the dappled shade.
Since Uzes is an architecturally protected town, there are not air-conditioning units permitted in the historic centre. However, I have installed super effective, colonial-style ceiling fans in all the rooms for delicious coolness in summer - and a super-efficient heating system to ensure the apartment is cosy and warm in winter.
