Welcome to The Ark at Vail, one of Vail's first vacation homes and the legacy of Vail's founding families. Surrounded by newer mansions worth tens of millions of dollars, this older home offers an exceptional location for a relatively modest price, at least compared to what the neighboring properties rent for! This private ski-in / ski out / walk to lift residence provides a true mountain experience with views of Gore Range mountains and evergreen trees.

Please note - in Fall 2023, some updates have occurred which are not yet shown with updated photography: The ping pong and foosball tables were removed from the lower living room, along with the old furniture and built in entertainment center / bookshelf. A nicer, new couch and recliner plus a poker table and a 60 inch Smart HDTV have taken their place. Also, the bunk bedroom has seen an upgrade. It used to have 4 Twin beds, but now has a Twin over Queen bunk bed plus an additional Twin bed that pulls out from under the Queen. This has really opened up the room. It still works well for 3 ot 4 kids or singles, but now also works really well for a couple or a couple with kids.

The Ark at Vail is an older home that has begun to benefit from owner investments. The Kitchen, dining, and living area were renovated in 2022. The home has nice beds and linens, a spacious & comfortable main living room with vaulted ceilings and a lower living room that provides your group with space to spread out. There are plenty of bedrooms for a large group, and customizable sleeping arrangements too. All of the king beds in this home can be split into Twin XL beds for groups with singles rather than couples. While the bathrooms remain dated, they are functional, and help make this home a relatively affordable property in one of the best locations that Vail has to offer.

Whether it be an alpine getaway, a family reunion get together, or an outing with friends competing together in their favorite sport, this home is for you. Your group will have a memorable retreat or family vacation in this historic architectural gem, designed by Architect and Vail Founder Fitzhugh Scott. This is a property that the U.S. Ski Team has called its home many times, and where countless mountain enthusiasts have vacationed. Go back in time to one of Vail's original homes. This house is a rare opportunity to experience a piece of Vail history. You'll love the location, find comfort in the living areas and bedrooms, and really appreciate the charm.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
