This delightful, cozy light-filled studio apartment sleeps 2 in a comfy queen bed. It is on the equestrian portion of a 40 acre estate ~ just a few minutes walk through a forest leads to a pristine Puget Sound beach at Pt. Robinson Park. Horses graze right outside your door. Enjoy a complete kitchen, bath w/ shower, comfy queen bed, wood stove, propane bbq and plenty of R &R. Pets are welcome with additional $40 fee. This is a non-smoking property.We live nearby and are available to help with whatever you might need during your stay.
The 350 sq. ft. Bunk House is a former tack room on the west side of our very large barn. Decorated with various old tools, heirloom hunting trophies, birch tree table legs and bed posts, wine casks from great-grandparents' vineyard, oil lamps, animal horns, and "lodgey" decor, it is an unforgettable place. There is a propane barbecue outside your door. Two full size horses and a miniature horse graze on the pasture outside the window and nicker to you as you come and go.
*Bring a pair of cozy slippers, rubber boots or outdoor shoes for trails, and flat soled shoes are best for walking on the pavers, gravel, grass and dirt that make up the farm.
*Oil, balsamic vinegar, tea, a little coffee, salt, pepper and sugar are supplied, as are all basic kitchen utensils, dishes, silverware, fire wood, pots/pans, bbq propane and tools, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, towels, linens, & soap are provided. And a picnic table in the forest, a pristine, private beach , and a Lighthouse are just a few minutes walk away!
The property has been designed and meticulously maintained by the same family for over 30 years. The goal has been to preserve the natural beauty of the woodlands and to protect the ecology of the forested landscape for the fauna: deer, eagles, hawk, heron, raccoons, owls, frogs, etc. that make the property their home. Ideal for birdwatching, exploring the shoreline, or simply relaxing in the unique space. With Point Robinson Lighthouse Park just a few minutes walk through forested trails or a 2 minute drive away, you are invited to explore the magic of Vashon/Maury islands from this memorable location.
If you have a party larger than 2, the Wildwood Coach House (690 sq.ft. ) is located on the opposite side of the barn and may be rented separately. It has a queen bed in the bedroom, a sofa sleeper in the living area, full kitchen and claw foot bathtub with a shower, a barbecue outside, a wood stove with firewood provided and maximum occupancy is 4. Also available on adjoining property is Vashon Loft and Beach, which sleeps 2-4 in an queen bed and a sofa sleeper, with a water view and it's own beach access and waterfront picnic area. You can also book the Vashon Field & Pond Event Venue for weddings and other special events during the summer months.
Dogs that can be easily controlled on a leash are welcome, but must be leashed at all times, everywhere on the property for the protection of wildlife, cats, horses, rabbits, neighbors, chickens and ducks. Pets may not be left in the studio unattended. There is an additional $40 de-allergen deep cleaning fee for pets, and a maximum of 2 pets.
We come up to the barn in the mornings and again at night (sometimes after dark) to feed the horses.
