La Barberie is a rural retreat yet not totally isolated - there is a local shop 2 minutes drive away or a supermarket less than 10mins by car. This means your holiday can be spent soaking up the peace and quiet or combined with days out to the many local attractions.

In the evenings you can enjoy the attached undercover area for eating or use the gravelled terrace area to the front. If the children still have energy left (when haven't they!) then part of the front field is fenced off for a game of frisby/football or just a good old run about.

We equally welcome families or couples as the accommodation and surrounding area makes for a holiday to suit everyone.

The owners live on site and are happy to give as little or as much input as suits your holiday needs

We will be present to welcome you into the cottage - from there we will leave you to enjoy your holiday but are happy to provide as much information and support as able.

A welcome pack with details/maps of local amenities and attractions will be waiting for you.

If you are going to arrive late or on a Sunday (very limited opening hours of shops) and need eg bread or milk we will glady source this for you at cost prior to your arrival.

La Barberie is now unrecognisable as the former milking shed it once was. It now offers
- a spacious living area downstairs with a wood burning stove and 2 sofas
- a modern well equipped kitchen with table and chairs
- an understairs cupboard offers some storage space
- one double and one twin room both with en suite wc, wash basin and shower cubicle
- both bedrooms offer superb views of the local countryside
- the bedrooms have bedside cabinets with lamps and portable hanging rails with a chest of drawers on the landing

To the side of the cottage is a gravelled area for car parking. Once through the cottage gate you are secluded from the main house. On the gravelled area there is a set of chairs and table with access to the front field if extra space is required. To the side of the propery is a covered area for when some shade or shelter is needed. There is a table also in this area which can be accessed from the lounge or from the front of the property.
If you have children we are constantly sourcing toys to add to the collection.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
