Private, tranquil and spacious studio-style apartment located in a unique Tuscan-style tower in Brooklyn ...perfect if you're looking for a stylish space where you can relax and unwind.

Overlooking native bush reserve, yet only 5 minutes from the restaurants of Cuba Street (about $8 by Uber), and a further 10 minutes stroll to Courtenay Place, Te Papa, or the waterfront. 20 minutes from the airport.

Off-street parking, and access to some of Wellington's best walking tracks only 3 minutes away.

THE SPACE

The living space is a stylish converted photography studio. It consists of a very spacious living & sleeping area which occupies the whole floor, opening out onto a private deck, with a kitchenette and bathroom facilities on the floor above.

46 inch flat screen TV with Google Chromecast, hi fi audio, and an Apple Lightning connector dock if you want to enjoy your own music (or simply charge your phone).

Comfortable Posturepedic queen-sized bed with bedside tables and lamps, and also a double sofa-bed to accommodate up to 4 guests.

FOOD

For breakfast, we offer a choice of fresh home-made sourdough bread & eggs/preserves; or muesli and fruit, as well as a selection of teas, and freshly-ground coffee.

We don't offer full cooking facilities, as our guests generally prefer to take advantage of Wellington's many and varied restaurants while they are here. However, the kitchenette has a sink, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, plates & wine/beer glasses, chopping board & cutlery etc.

GUEST ACCESS

Access to the 'Tuscan tower' is past our house, and shares the entrance with my office.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

We live on the property, in the house right beside the tower. We love to meet and interact with our guests, and we are here to offer advice on where to eat/drink/visit in Wellington, chat, and assist you any way we can, but as travellers ourselves we understand the desire for privacy.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

PARKING AND ACCESS

There is off street parking on our car pad in front of the property, and level access past our house to the tower entrance. Access to the living & sleeping area is down a flight of stairs, so sadly the space isn't suitable for people with disabilities.

AV SYSTEM

The studio has a 46 inch flat screen TV with Google Chromecast, and a quality HiFi audio system. Connect your own Netflix account or any Chromecast compatible streaming service, or just chill to music via the provided Lightning dock.

Note that the audio volume can be turned up very LOUD, so, unless you're playing Bob Dylan :), please be considerate and keep the volume within reasonable limits - particularly between 7.00 AM and 7.00 PM. ...And sorry, as stated in our House Rules, we have a strict 'no parties or events' policy.

PETS & WILDLIFE

We have 2 environmentally friendly cats on the property who's job is to catch rats and mice.

The property backs onto a bush reserve, but New Zealand is fortunate to be free of snakes, dangerous spiders and other nasty creatures. You are highly likely see and hear some of the prolific birdlife of the area, which includes Tui's, Kereru (the native wood-pidgeon, Kaka (NZ native parrots), Fantails, and others.

SMOKING

Smoking is only allowed outside on the deck, provided the doors are closed and butts disposed of considerately (and NOT tossed into the bush :).

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Forrest (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
