From the manager

Mill Pond House is a completely restored 1840s farmhouse originally adjacent to the famous Mill Pond in historic West Tisbury on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. It was remodeled by the present owner, an interior designer. It is beautifully appointed with antiques, charming accessories, and comfortable furnishings. An old pine floor and columns add to the ambience of the interior. The first floor has been converted to an open space plan with a cozy living room, a smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, and a charming dining area seating eight, and kept always comfortable with our new air conditioning. There is also a double bedroom with half-bath as well as a screened porch with a dining table, a seating area and beautiful view of the spacious deck, container plantings, and expansive yard. Upstairs there is a king, queen and twin bedrooms; two with a beautiful pond view, all with air conditioning. Laundry facilities are conveniently located in one of the two full bathrooms. The main house is 2,700 square feet.

THE SUMMER HOUSE An adjacent old original barn converted to a studio with living space, a half-bath, bar sink and WiFi serves as a wonderful private space for work or play. For extra comfort there are three more beds.

The property is fenced in the front to secure small children. A shed holds all beach equipment, towels, chairs, games, toys, etc. The back yard vista provides a lovely pastoral setting often enhanced by brilliant sunsets.

OUR HISTORIC REGION The house is within walking distance to the quaint colonial town of West Tisbury dating from the 1600s where Indians and colonists (including the son of Myles Standish, the Mayhews, and other settlers) came to grind their corn and exchange goods. Today it holds the first church on the island, an amazing new library, Alley’s General Store, an art gallery, and craft/antiques shows. Not to be missed.
