Known affectionately as the Playboy Mansion, this is the largest property in the exclusive Stonehurst Mountain Estate. Home to a number of high profile figures, the estate has become regarded as one of the most secure and desirable locations in Cape Town. The house enjoys the best position in the Estate, perched high up on Silvermine Mountain above Westlake Golf Course, with no properties above it, and enjoying spectacular views of Table Mountain to the North, Constantia and the wine farms to the North West, the Cape Flats to the North East and False Bay with sea views and the Kogelberg Mountains to the East.

All bedrooms are luxuriously appointed with en-suite bathrooms and views to die for. The living room is over 70m2 with a huge fireplace and a professional cinema. The stunning kitchen has English oak beams and an Aga stove, and the oak floor of the dining room is at the same level as the rimflow pool, with water lapping against the glass windows.

Several fountains create an air of tranquillity, and the outside braai area is perfectly designed with a huge fireplace, bar fridge and Belfast Sink. Inside there is a study with two computers and wireless internet access for those who need to keep abreast of work or want to look up a local restaurant and check the weather.

Downstairs is a huge entertainment area for those that want to relax. This includes a pool table, a table tennis table and a huge window looking into the swimming pool so you can watch the kids as they swim underwater. There is also another television room with a 36" TV, AV amplifier, Xbox and playstation. Finally, you enter the tranquillity of the jacuzzi room, with its own en-suite shower and changing room. Sitting in the jacuzzi, which is big enough for ten people, you can look across the lawn at table mountain and the vineyards during the day, and the lights of Constantia and beyond at night.

The estate benefits from a professional gym with every type of fitness machine, a long pool and a steam room, all of which you can use free of charge.

Many visitors to South Africa are concerned about security and personal safety. At Stonehurst you don't have to worry about setting alarms - as a gated development access to the estate is restricted, and a full complement of guards patrol the estate 24 hours a day.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jason (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
