Stables Cottage is one of five cottages set within a courtyard on East Kirkland Farm, Wigtown, Dumfries & Galloway, a beautiful, peaceful location overlooking Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve and the hills beyond. Wigtown (Scotland's Book Town) is one mile / 15 minute walk along a quiet single track road. A perfect central base to explore glorious Galloway.

Stables Cottage boasts beautiful views over Wigtown Bay and the hills beyond. It has a modern open plan living/dining/kitchen area with double doors onto a large patio area which overlooks the play park. This cottage has one double bedroom and one small bedroom with single bed and bunk. The bathroom has a good sized bath with overhead shower

Additional facilities include indoor swimming pool (open April to end September) , games barn, swings and trampoline, drying room, laundry room with dryer, additional freezer space for each cottage, a selection of dvds and information leaflets on the local area. Free Wifi is available in the courtyard. This cottage has £1 coin meters for electricity and night store heating which costs approx £10-£40 per week (Depending on the time of year). Well behaved pets are always welcome here at Courtyard Cottages, but due to the fact we are a working farm, and other guests on-site, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not allowed on the sofas or the beds and we also request, due to noise and damage, that dogs are not left unattended in the cottages. Any damage caused by your dogs will be chargable.
Max of 2 dogs per cottage.
We don't accept any other type of pet, sorry!

Beautiful, peaceful place

A nice warm welcome and a beautiful cottage. The pool was great, and along with the games barn the kids were kept busy, especially during typical Scottish weather. Looking forward to going back.

Why can't I call the property manager before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I view and manage my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to view all your booking details, pay the balance of your holiday or cancel it if you need to.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact the property manager to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send the property manager a message.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
