From the owner

Situated about 8 km from Wilderness village along the Garden Route, this secluded and private chalet lies nestled in and surrounded by forest. Enjoy the peace and serenity of this unique setting while staying close to the sea, beaches and restaurants.

The chalet surroundings are beautiful and as a retreat one could spend all your time relaxing here, or use it as base to explore the Garden Route.

All rooms open onto a spacious covered patio with lovely views. In addition there is a braai (barbecue) area with braai equipment (wood supplied).

The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering, with gas stove and oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The bathroom which has an outside entrance but is part of the chalet, has a shower, bath, basin, toilet and a clothes washer.

The chalet is 15 minutes from Wilderness village with its numerous restaurants (some highly rated), variety of shops, liquor store, petrol station, bicycle and scooter hire, pharmacy and Friday night market with live music.

It is also 20 minutes from the Wilderness beaches and lagoons. The village is located between two picturesque rivers, one of which flows into a beautiful vlei (lake) with associated wetlands. These environments are wonderful for birding. Canoes can be hired to explore these waterways.

Other activities offered in Wilderness and surrounds include paragliding (tandem gliding available), abseiling, surfing, horse riding, mountain biking, water-skiing, sailing, fishing and quad biking.

Numerous nature reserves with a network of hiking trails lie within easy reach of the chalet.

The last 400 m of entrance road to the cottage is fairly rough and a pickup or SUV is recommended. However some guests have used normal vehicles, driven slowly without a problem.

Mobile reception at the cottage is limited but there are areas nearby where the reception is better.

Why can't I call Anton (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Anton (the owner) a message.

If Anton (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
