It is an ancient village mentioned in the Doomsday Book with the Falcon Inn being a rare survival of a traditional country pub. Withernwick is within easy reach of some great seaside towns, with Hornsea being about five miles away. Hornsea has long, safe sandy beaches and an attractive promenade.
