From the owner

Gorse Cottage is superbly located in the beautiful village of Withypool in the heart of Exmoor National Park. The cottage is well equipped with a spacious sitting room with wood burning stove & a light and airy kitchen diner. French doors open from the kitchen onto the patio area at the back of the cottage where there is a patio table and chairs. There are three bedrooms. The king size master bedroom with ensuite is on the ground floor. The ensuite comprises a bath with shower. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms. One is a twin bedroom and the other bedroom has zip link beds giving the flexibility for another twin or a kingsize bed as required. These bedrooms share a family shower-room. There is also a separate downstairs WC. The property benefits from an enclosed garden.

There is parking for two cars outside the property and a free car park less than 100m away,

We do NOT provide towels.

One well behaved dog is welcome for an additional £25.

Short breaks (minimum 3 nights) are available out of peak season and school holidays, please enquire.

Withypool

The cottage is just a short walk from the River Barle, perfect for children on sunny days. The moor can be reached in a couple of minutes. There are lots of lovely walks from Withypool, including routes along the river to Tarr Steps and Landacre Bridge. The renowned Exmoor ponies can often been seen grazing on Withypool Common and, of course, Exmoor is famous for its red deer. This is a popular area for cyclists Horse riding over the moor is a fantastic experience. Lynton & Lynmouth are 16 miles away. The fabulous beaches of Croyde Bay, Putsborough & Woolacombe (50 minutes drive) are great for surfing and parts of Woolacombe beach are dog friendly throughout the year. The medieval village of Dunster is also a great day out.

Withypool is lucky to have a shop, with a post office, the Withypool Tea Rooms and the Royal Oak pub - all just a short walk away.

A mirror in the twin bedroom , is necessary. Also waste paper bins in bedrooms. Apart from this very well equipped.

Why can't I call Alison (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Alison (the owner) a message.

If Alison (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
