The Grey Shingles Camps property has been a cottage colony since the 1940's. We completed extensive renovations, and our guests are experiencing the vacations of old with a modern amenities. Rust Pond Camp is the largest of our five camps. The property consists of five acres of open lawn, woodland, an orchard, and a private waterfront with sandy beach on pristine Rust Pond. Magnificent old sugar maples, red maples, Norway spruce, and white pine will greet you as you enter the property through the fieldstone pillars. Massive stone walls line the property boundaries on both sides.
At the top of the drive is our pickleball and basketball courts. The Grey Shingles Camps Rec Hall will be in view, with it's old 'Welcome to Grey Shingles' sign. Built in the 1920's for the girls' camp 'Ehawee', the Rec hall provides a spacious gathering place for our guests as well as our Reception desk. Amenities include a living room with a large screen cable TV, ping pong, foosball, and other games. There is a full kitchen, dining area, screen porch, and a sun deck overlooking the lawn and orchard. Our rates include the use of all Rec hall facilities.
Behind the Rec hall are the five fully renovated Grey Shingles Camps in the shade of the towering Norway spruce trees. The camps look out onto the Great Lawn which features volleyball, bocce, horseshoes, and cornhole, as well as a swing set. A stone fire pit accommodates our guests for frequent campfires with s'mores. Apples in the orchard during late summer and autumn are numerous, delicious, and shared by all! From the orchard, through the opening in the stone wall, is a gently sloping woodland path which leads to our Rust Pond waterfront! There you can relax, swim, and enjoy our kayaks, SUP's, canoe, and sunfish.
