From the owner

Crown Cottage, ( 3 bedrooms + sleeps 5), is located in the centre of the old market town of Woodstock. While only 8 miles from the centre of Oxford and on the edge of the Cotswolds it provides a beautiful location and an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, both by foot and car.

The cottage has three levels,

On the ground floor, a fully fitted kitchen, (including dishwasher and washing machine etc.), a dining area and lounge. (with a wood-burning stove). Also a small enclosed private courtyard with table and chairs.

On the first floor, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with a single bed, and a bathroom, (toilet, basin and shower).

On the second floor there is the 'master' bedroom (complete with wooden beams) and another bathroom. ( Bath/shower, toilet and basin.)

The complete cottage is centrally heated, and all the bedding and towels etc are included!.

Being in the centre of town there are numerous bars, bistro's , restaurants, shops and a supermarket within a short walk. Should you fancy Indian, Chinese, Italian or English cuisine you will not have far to walk!. A number of pubs, offering the 'traditional' English beers, along with International lagers are within metres of the front door.

Should you come by car, there is a free public car park only 3m from the door, or if you arrive by public transport, the bus stop's are only 50m away.

The entrance to Blenheim Palace and beautiful grounds are only 300m away, an ideal opportunity to visit a heritage site!

We were as sorry as you to be informed that the owner of the cottage had decided to take this cottage of the rental market for the two weeks over Christmas for his visiting relations to use. It is his cottage, and he thought that he was acting reasonably to cancel giving 10 weeks notice. It was something we disagreed with, but as not being the owner, we could not do anything about!. You failed to mention that we had offered you another cottage which was available, still in the centre of Woodstock and only 50m from the original cottage, and, at a reduced price. You then would have been able to go to your restaurants and see all your friends. (and have saved money.) We have been managing cottages in Woodstock for over 5 years, and this is the first time we have ever had to cancel any booking in any of our cottages. However we are taking steps to ensure that this rare event will never happen again. I appreciate

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Allan (the owner) a message.

If Allan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
