Privacy out every window in this 3 bed, 2 bath tri-level home that backs to the National Forest in quietest part of Wrightwood. Relax out back on the over-sized deck as you BBQ using the propane grill, and watch the kids snow play & sled down the hill. Or sit and enjoy nature from up high on the massive front deck. Inside a warm, honey wood, open beam ceiling over the great room (Kit/dining/LR) invites you to light the gas or wood burning fireplace, or flick on the Roku with internet providedTV. Very homey and comfortable, the u-shaped seating area is perfect for family game night, and hides a double sofa bed to complement the three over-sized bedrooms. Upstairs the kids room has it’s own collection of toys, games and videos w/TV. Adjacent is the full bath and 2nd bedroom, which opens onto the private front deck. Downstairs, a large master retreat w/ bath, invites you to slip away for some private time, apart from the group. Thank you Denise for the nice review and we will look forward to having you come back! Just a quick note, there is a standard coffee pot that works in the kitchen, however it is not a pod type coffee maker such as Kuerig or Nespresso. As for the shower knobs, they are older but functional. It is important to note that it is not necessary to crank down on the shower/bath knobs to turn off the water, that will only weaken the rubber seal and eventually cause water to leak.

I was very disheartened to have received this 2-star rating. I would like to respond to the guests comments item by item. I went to the property yesterday (Jan 11, 2018) to inspect it. I am hoping to include in this review several pictures taken yesterday and late December 2017 journal entries. Note that the two 5-star perfect reviews prior to this one were written in late December 2017 (about 3 weeks ago). "all furniture is outdated"-I am not sure the meaning of outdated. We do have some antique pieces, some shabby chic, and some very nice woodsy pieces. The website reflects the furniture that is in the house. "living room two couches sink when you sit" - This is untrue. I sat on every part of each sofa and did not find them 'sinking' in any way. One of our recent 5-star reviews also wrote in the house journal-I quote: "the couches were super comfortable" Downstairs bedroom "cot" impossible to sleep in: The "cot" is a rollaway bed and I would agree it would be uncomfortable. This party stated they had 8 guests (4 adults, 4 kids). I am not sure why they would want to use the rollaway. There is a fullsize futon in the same master bedroom that has a standard futon mattress. "upstairs with queen bed sunken in the middle" - I have personally used this mattress and inspected it for any sunken areas. None noted, however there is a feather mattress pad on top, so maybe that is why they thought it to be sunken. "bedroom with twin beds literally pullout cots"- no idea what is meant by this. These are standard twin mattresses on a metal frame, with a headboard and footboard. In absolutely no way are they 'pull out cots'. "comforters & pillows on beds dusty very old" - We keep protective pillow covers on all pillows. Once pillows begin to seem 'flat', they are replaced. I inspected each pillow. One out of about 12 pillows did not have a cover. One was flat and I replaced it with a new pillow. As for the comforters, the twin bedroom did have an older comforter set on the bed, as the new set was being washed. I have retired the older set permanently. I did not notice any issue at all with the other bed comforters. "outdated sheets with stained towels" - If there are stained towels they should not be put out and I have instructed my cleaning lady. As for outdated sheets, most of the sheet sets are cute woodsy flannel themed. The only complaint I ever get on sheets is in the summer when it's warm, so I have a second set of sheets that are not flannel. Pictures taken by myself on 1/11/18--I am unable to attach or paste them onto this review response-disappointing. I will be adding these pictures as well as cabin journal entries, including dates to the listing itself. Sincerely, Barbara

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
