Sandringham Cottage is set in a near perfect central position on the banks of the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads within clear view of the infamous Wroxham Bridge - perfect for a tranquil and relaxing break. Due to its prominent position on the Peninsula site - in what is often termed the Capital of the Broads - on the river at Wroxham - many guests have seen the cottage in friends' holiday pictures.
Double glazed French doors open onto your own South East facing patio, complete with chairs and picnic table for your use, with fine river views - an ideal place to while away the mornings while watching the activity on the river. In the evening the light weight chairs can be moved round and placed by the kitchen window to enjoy the evening sun and in summer this is a great place to watch returning day boats to the nearby marina and other boats making their way under the nearby Wroxham Bridge or to fish in season.
The cottage is on the Peninsula private marina site that offers shared gardens, a private mooring if required right outside the cottage, and fishing from just outside the patio doors in season. Pike, bream and perch are regularly landed within 10 feet of the cottage door and wild swans are nearly always on the river nearby.
Hoveton village centre is a pleasant 10 minute walk away with a wide range of shops including the infamous Roy's store, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Favourites eateries nearby for guests not wishing to use the self catering option include the The Old Mill, Yim Siam Thai, Wherryman's, Hotel Wroxham and King's Head Cavery. Takeaways include Thai, Chinese and a choice of fish and chips such as Ken's. There is always McDonalds' for the kids!
Tour boats and dayboat hire are available less than five minutes walk from your door to explore the magic of the Norfolk Broads by river. Try Wroxham Boat Hire, Broads Tours or The Canoe Man as some of the many means to get afloat locally while based at the cottage.
The fine city of Norwich, that can be accessed easily by train, bus, car or park and ride at Sprowston, is about 8 miles away for shopping and theatre trips while the sandy beaches of the Norfolk coast are about 14 miles away. Cromer and Great Yarmouth are nearby too for traditional seaside activities.
Other attractions include the Bure Valley Railway, Hoveton Hall, Blickling Hall, Wroxham Barns, BeWILDerwood, Go Ape and various zoos such as Africa Alive!
On return from a busy day you can relax in your beautiful holiday home that has been fully renovated. Firstly it has a fully fitted kitchen with views of the iconic Wroxham Bridge. The kitchen features integral fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, hob, extractor, oven and a built in fan heater if required in winter. All reasonably required cooking utensils are provided as is a dining a table for four if needed.
The living room with great river views including a feature port hole window that many guests love, two leather sofas, an electric fireplace, TV, DVD and Wi Fi. A complimentary teas and coffee pack will be in the cottage for you to enjoy for refreshment on arrival.
Upstairs is a stunning main bedroom with a beautiful double bed, bed side tables, chest of drawers and large wardrobe. The South East facing window gives a virtually unparalleled view of this popular stretch of the River Bure in the morning.
There is a second bedroom that sleeps 2 with twin beds, chest of drawers, large wardrobe and picture window that can open fully with views to Wroxham Bridge.
All bedrooms have fantastic dual aspect main river views, beds are all made up with lovely pillows and duvets ready for your arrival and, unlike some other cottages, there is full ceiling height throughout. You will be amazed at how relaxed you will feel after just a few days enjoying this environment.
There is a family bathroom, again full height throughout, with bath, shower above, hand basin, toilet, blower heater, storage cupboard, electric shaver point and heated towel rail. We have worked hard on a refit of this to ensure it is both practical and adds to your holiday experience. Two towels per guest are provided for your use.
The cottage is fully insulated, double glazed and has electric heating through out for cosy nights in making for enjoyable breaks all year round.
Allocated off road parking for one vehicle is provided in a car park close to the cottage - arrangements for a second car can be made for an additional fee. We can make arrangements for a dayboat to be moored right outside your cottage on our private mooring for the duration of your stay if required. We can advise where boats can be launched locally if trailed. There is a picnic bench, seats four, for your use.

Due to the height of the cottage on a raised brick plinth above the grassed area we do not recommend this cottage for disabled guests or young children.
