From the owner

Arjuza farmhouse is an Architect designed accommodation. A welcoming traditional courtyard set within a loggia type façade fills the interior with natural light and fresh air. This characteristic led to the name of the farmhouse, ‘Arjuza’, that means airy.

Entering the house one steps back more than five hundred years in time. A long room built of coursed rubble walls and roofed over by a corbelled stone ceiling referred to as kileb in Maltese, is likely a pre 1530 structure. The room has been expertly converted into a dining room that accommodates up to 14 covers and boasts of several mediaeval elements such as a couple of stone hewn cupboards, a ‘barumbara’ (stone pigeonry) a couple of ‘mrabat’ (stone tie rings) and a ‘Nara’ (a torch holder). Four steps down from the dining room an arched sheep pen has been tastefully transformed into a functional kitchen and a cosy space has been turned into a ‘study room’ where desk facilities complete with cable and wireless internet are provided.

A couple of steps up from the ground floor loggia a double corbel roofed room, has been converted into a cosy sitting room. A full shower room complete with sanitary facilities is found at ground floor.

Three bedrooms are situated at first floor level. The Sunflower Suite, a main double bedroom, is fitted with antique furniture, has an open balcony and an en-suit bathroom. The loggia corridor segregates the Geranium Suite from the rest of the house. This comprises of a double bedroom with a cot, and a separate room that is fitted with two single beds and a shared shower room.

The Red Rose Suite, is the third double bed room complete with an en-suite bathroom and exclusive terraces is at second floor. This bedroom also enjoys a terrace / roof from which one can enjoy unobstructed views of the Citadel and other nice scenery of Gozo.

Outside areas comprises of a quaint courtyard ideal for an afternoon tea party that is separate from the property’s main external grounds. In addition, the main external grounds extend over an area exceeding 400sqm out of which 150sqm are pool deck having an external shower head, deck chair facilities and 200sqm garden. A rectangular pool measures 3.5m x 7m and is from 1.2m to 1.8m deep. A 4m x 6m gazeebo provides adequate covered space within the external areas. External shower and WC facilities complement the external area. The BBQ area comes complete with external dining facilities, gas BBQ, gas oven and hobs. Truly a wonderful entertainment area.

Other facilities comprises of a fully equipped kitchen including microwave oven, kettle, toaster, gas oven and hobs. All rooms are equipped with free standing air fans, electric heaters and emergency lights. The accommodation has central TV and WIFI facilities. Air-conditions are available in bedrooms at extra charge per night.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joanne (the owner) a message.

If Joanne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
