This beautiful Victorian property has recently been subject to an outstanding refurbishment and provides the comfort and space to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday in the historic city of York.

Corner House extends over 4 floors with the large kitchen diner located in the basement. The large, modern kitchen is fitted with high spec appliances including Nespresso coffee machine, induction hob, Neff Hide and Slide oven and Bosch dishwasher and washer dryer. The cupboards are well stocked with quality pans, crockery and glassware and a solid oak dining table sits at the heart of this large kitchen. There is also a casual seating area; a place to plan your day over a coffee or make meal preparation a more sociable occasion.

The ground floor provides a spacious sitting room, with reclining leather sofas, a large 49 inch curved Smart TV, linked to the free Wifi, Netflix and an extensive DVD library. A Smart home hub allows you to play music, control the lighting and heating system all from the comfort of your chair plus listen to the latest news, weather and get information about the local area.

The bedrooms in Corner House are set over the first and second floor. The master bedroom contains an oak king size bed and wardrobe with an ensuite shower room. Also on this floor is the family bathroom with a full size shower bath and power shower. On the second floor are two more double bedrooms. The first contains a king size bed which can be split into two singles depending on your requirements (please note if singles are required please advise me at time of booking). The second bedroom provides guests with a double bed and oak wardrobe. All bedrooms are fitted with Smart TVs linked to the Wifi and Netflix. The beds are 2000 to 3000 sprung mattress with memory foam toppers and quality 100% cotton sheets and the windows are all fitted with blinds and lined curtains.

Hi, my name is Jo Ferris and I am one of the owners of Cornerhouse. Although we work locally, family ties and commitments mean that we live approximately 40 minutes away. What we love to do, however, is spend time in York with family and friends and Cornerhouse is the ideal property to allow us to do that. Although we have stayed in many holiday lets over the years this is the first time that we have owned a holiday cottage ourselves and on starting out I have been very conscious of what we like to find when you first open the front door.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jo (the owner) a message.

If Jo (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
