A large double cosy bedroom with sitting area and en-suite. This upper room in an old barn conversion is separate to the main house. It is tastefully decorated in a traditional manner to provide a comfortable space to relax in. The seating area gives stunning views over a pretty garden and surrounding countryside. Wifi, dressing table / desk. Towels and soaps provided. Tea and coffee provided. Within 100 yards from The Hackney House cafe and The Peacock at Barlow village pub.This beautiful detached barn conversion has been charmingly renovated, retaining and working with many original features where possible. Tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, the upper loft area provides a comfortable bedroom and en-suite with a glass door giving views over open countryside. With its stunning beamed vaulted ceiling creates a warm and cosy environment. Located on the owners grounds. A travel cot can be provided on request. No smoking. Overlooking the immaculately maintained gardens which is shown to the public as part of Barlow Open Gardens each year. Shared use of washing machine, tumble dryer in external utility room.

The lower barn is available for rental separately providing a further two bedrooms Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and vaulted ceiling. Shower room with toilet (The Barn at Woodland View) It is conveniently located 115 steps away from The Peacock at Barlow bar and restaurant offering the best views around, as well as just 80 steps away from The Hackney House Cafe and gift shop which serves a hearty breakfast, and is renowned in the area for its home cooking. The Loft at Woodland View can be found in the small Derbyshire hamlet of Barlow. Most famous for its well dressings, the village uniquely has 3 wells, which the villagers decorate and round the occasion off with a carnival weekend.

On the edge of the Peak District National Park, the area is home to excellent walking and with a host of attractions available in the vicinity. The large market town of Chesterfield famous for its crooked spire is just 15 minutes away, and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall are around 20 minutes. The ever popular Bakewell and Hathersage in the heart of the Hope Valley are also around 20 minutes and the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton and wonderfully historic plague village of Eyam are around half an hour. Matlock, with its cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham is also around 30 minutes, Edale, home to the start/finish of the Pennine Way and the spa town of Buxton can be reached in 45 minutes. Shop 2¼ miles, pub ¼ mile and restaurant ¾ mile.

Excellent hosts, comfortable and cosy loft en-suite bedroom with sofa and a modern, spotless, ensuite bathroom, lovely view. On the door step to the Peak District and superb gastro pubs nearby.

Thank you for the review. The outer door can be left open even in winter as the glass inner door is an exterior door and therefore there should be no heat loss. With regards to the non self catering facilities; I never realised you thought it had :( the description of the Loft is 'Large Double bedroom with en-suite, I am sorry you thought this was anything other than that. The full description clearly describes what you should expect on arrival. Hoping you enjoyed your stay with us and would love to see you again, maybe in summer next time :)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Frances (the owner) a message.

If Frances (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
