Champrepus cottage is a charming barn renovation built in stone, dating from about 1800.
The cottage is hidden down a small lane overlooking unspoilt countryside and is surrounded by farmland. There are often sheep, cows or horses in the neighbouring fields. It has lots of character with exposed stone walls, beams and a large fireplace with a woodburning stove.
The ground floor is open plan with the living room, dining area and kitchen all in one. The shower room and separate toilet are also downstairs. Upstairs are 2 spacious rooms, one double and 1 twin. Both have lovely views over the valley. They have high pitched ceilings clad in pine. The double room also has exposed stone walls and a large chimney breast. Both rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds, chests of drawers, hanging rails for clothes, bedside tables and lamps. There is also a central upstairs mezzanine lounge between the two bedrooms for relaxing, reading or playing games.
It is a very quiet retreat but not far from the big towns of Villedieu les Poeles, Coutances and Avranches. Walking distance to the local zoo (20 mins or 5 min drive). There are a host of lovely sandy beaches about a 20 min drive. The local swimming pool in Villedieu has a big pool, childs pool and a slide it is just 5 mins drive. The famous monument of Mont St Michel is 30 mins drive away and is not to be missed. The historical Normandy DD beaches can be reached in under 1 hour. There is a wealth of history in the local area and the Tour de France will be close by on 4th July 2016.
The cottage does not have wi-fi but it does get good reception for 3g or 4g roaming connection. It has UK tv and a dvd player.
