From the owner

Our home is situated in the village of Cottered “our lane” is quiet, private and peaceful.

The Bull pub restaurant is within three or four minutes walk. We also have many footpaths surrounding us if you are keen walkers.

There is a bus service that stops at the end of our lane which will take you to Stansted Airport or Baldock train station where you can board trains for Cambridge / Peterborough or London.

Accommodation

The apartment is self contained and you can come and go as you please with a coded door (code changed for each booking)

The Kitchen

The Kitchen is well equipped and all appliances are new, it has a 4 ring induction hob, extractor hood (extracts to outside the annex) oven, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster, kettle, and all the necessary dishes and pans to cook dinner. (If you find you need a pan that is not provided just ask I am sure I will have something in my cupboard you can use). Knives are in knife block, they are very sharp! The drawer under the sink contains first aid items just in case you need them. There is also a dish washer (tablets supplied) and a washing machine (Persil non bio washing liquid supplied).

The fridge and cupboards will be stocked with milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, butter, cereals, tea, coffee (decaf and normal) biscuits etc. Breakfast is a continental breakfast which you are able to take at your leisure. If you have special requirements please let me know on the booking form.

For emergencies there is a fire blanket and fire extinguisher.

Bathroom/ wet room with walk in shower

The bathroom has been made into a wet room and is located off the kitchen. There are no steps into the shower. It has a 110v/240v shaver point next to the large mirror to charge electric toothbrushes and shavers. Above the shower is an extraction fan which will continue to run (quietly) for several minutes after the room light is switched off.

There is plenty of space for your personal items.

Do not use a hair dryer in the shower room as this would be dangerous – water and electricity do not mix!! A hair dryer is available in the bedroom. Please do not plug anything other than an electric shaver into the shaver socket.

The Bedroom

The room is warm and comfortable. You can adjust the temperature of the radiator yourself.

It is very quiet. No traffic noise.

There are 2 bedside tables with double power points. A digital clock is provided so that you don’t miss a meeting or flight.

The built-in wardrobe has full height hanging space for long clothes and storage for smaller items. There is a shelf above.

A ironing board, Iron and hair dryer can be found in the wardrobe.

A mirror hangs on the wall to ensure you look your best before leaving.

Bed Frame:

The bed frame is made of oak and has a solid wood headboard the base has sprung slats supporting the mattress.

Mattress:

It important to have a good quality mattress to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. We chose the mattress very carefully and hope you will agree that it was a good choice.

The mattress size is a Standard UK Double – 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in (135cm x 190cm), Medium Firm. The mattress has a pocket spring density of 1000 springs. Each spring operates independently so you can sleep in your own zone without affecting your partner. The mattress was chosen to suit most people

Pillows:

Pillows are a very personal choice so we supply two different types of pillows per person.

Sitting Room:

This is a lovely room, quiet and very light with a view through a very large oak window, you are not overlooked so no need to close the curtains if you so wish. You may even see the pheasant feeding from the feeder outside your window.

There is a large remote control flat screen TV with a wide range of TV and Radio channels. The broadband router is on the side table with the code for you to log in. This is free to all guests.

You will love it here, space to relax and for the business person all the facilities you could need. We really do care about your comfort and privacy.

For safety, there is a fire extinguisher and a radio linked smoke detector in the Sitting Room and Kitchen.

Why can't I call Karim (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Karim (the owner) a message.

If Karim (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
