This Idyllic, Rural Retreat has the most breath-taking location you could imagine. Ideal for both couples and families it combines spectacular views of Snowdonia and the Cambrian coast, with cosy home-from-home comforts including wifi, satellite TV and a dishwasher. Set in the village of Llithfaen it's only a 5 min walk from a shop, pub and playground. It is near some of North Wales's best beaches and mountains and provides amazing opportunities for walking.
Outside, the cottage has beautiful gardens to front and back, each with different, breath-taking views. They are filled with birdsong and a variety of wildlife. It's a paradise for children. There is a trampoline and large lawn in the back, ideal for ball games, as well as paths to explore through the trees and secret corners to hide in. With no passing traffic parents can relax knowing the children are safe to play outside all day long.
You can choose to eat outside at the picnic table in the front with views across the sea to Snowdonia, or in a secluded corner of the large back garden looking at the hills of the Llŷn peninsula.
Inside, the cottage is wonderfully comfortable. It has satellite TV and wifi. The lounge, with its wooden-beamed ceiling has a fabulous log burner. The dining room has bi-fold doors that open onto the decked area of the front garden and frame the views in all their glory. The kitchen is well equipped and has a dishwasher as well as an oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath and electric shower. The roomy entrance porch is very useful for storing boots, coats and walking gear.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The master room has a very comfortable king size bed and far-reaching views to the sea. The second room has bunks for the younger members of the family. From 2020 we are able to provide bed linen and towels for your holiday. Given the character of this cottage property, the stairs are quite steep. Please do bear this in mind if booking, especially given the bathroom is downstairs.
If you enjoy walking you'll be spoilt for choice and it's ideal if you are looking for a holiday your dog will enjoy. There are footpaths from the front door which lead to the Rivals mountain range in one direction and along the coast path to the pilgrim church in Pistyll on the other. There are a wide variety of wonderful beaches to choose from including the wide sandy beach at Nefyn, the picturesque village on the beach at Porth Dinllaen and the sailing waters of Abersoch.
For families with younger children there is soft play at the Glasfryn centre as well as at the village pub in nearby Edern. There are playgrounds in Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn and the much-loved Rabbit Farm at Llanystumdwy. Older children will love the water-sports in Abersoch and Pwllheli as well as attractions such as Greenwood Forest Park with its people-powered roller-coaster and the tree top nets and forest coaster at Zip World Betws y Coed. Both Snowdonia and Anglesey, with their many attractions and stunning scenery, are less than an hour's drive away.
We have been awarded Visit Britain and Visit Wales's 'Good to Go' accreditation which shows we've risk assessed the cottage and made it as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.
All in all, Pedwar Gwynt is a haven of beauty and tranquillity where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, taking time out to relax and recharge. We hope you will love it as much as we do.
