Moonseeker is a beautifully presented pet friendly barn conversion at Webber Hill Farm Cottages. A peaceful Devon escape near Okehampton market town & a great base for exploring Dartmoor National Park, we are set away from main roads, reached down a narrow, unmade farm track tucked away in countryside between fields of sheep & cows. Moonseeker is the very private old milking parlour next to the Farmhouse & has a fully enclosed secluded garden.

THE ACCOMMODATION: Inside is the perfect blend of character & contemporary. Converted with much love and attention to detail, the cottage retains features such as beams & fragments of cob wall. Moonseeker is 2 storey & sleeps 4 people in 2 ensuite bedrooms, separated by a walkway for extra privacy. Both spacious BEDROOMS have comfy Hypnos beds. Bedroom 2 has a 5ft King Size bed, &the master bedroom has a 6ft Super King (or two 3ft singles). There is plenty of space for clothes in the triple wardrobes & master room has a chest of drawers. We provide a hairdryer in both rooms.
The velux windows give a terrific view of the night clouds as they race overhead in the moonlight, or you can stargaze without having to get out of bed.
Both ENSUITES have large shower enclosures with power showers, toilet & heated towel rails. The hand basins rest on granite bases with oak cupboards beneath.
The KITCHEN is extremely well equipped for up to 4 people, with plenty of crockery, cutlery, mugs, cups & glasses. The kitchen units are hand made oak with granite worksurfaces, dishwasher, fridge, seperate freezer and washing machine. The cooker is LPG (both hobs and ovens) and has 2 ovens & 8 hob burners, so if you have more than one keen chef there need be no arguments over who has the cooker! A microwave, toaster, espresso machine (for ground coffee beans) initial supply of tea, coffee & sugar, salt, pepper, & a pint of milk for the first cup of tea when you arrive are also provided.
The LOUNGE has very comfy leather sofas with plenty of cushions & throws. There is underfloor heating throughout & the lounge also has a woodburner (first basket of logs provided free) which is great for snuggling up in front of on autumn evenings, or enjoying the relaxing effect of the flames as you unwind after a day exploring.
The smart TV is a 40" Panasonic, with Freeview. We have a DVD player & an iPod dock if you want to bring your favourite music.
There are plenty of leaflets for ideas of things to do, places to eat etc, & we have a cottage information folder full of lots of suggestions about local areas of interest & information about the cottage to help make your stay comfortable.
*PETS:Accepting up to 4 dogs (2 pets free, £25 per pet thereafter), or house cats & other pets by arrangement, your pet will also arrive to a bowl of fresh water and a biscuit, small blanket and towel for paw wiping. We have a muddy boot and muddy paw wash area just outside the front door.
*Please note that dogs are only allowed downstairs.
We would appreciate it if you would keep dogs on leads when you are not in Moonseeker's private garden as you may encounter free range chickens, other people and pets in the communal areas.
THINGS TO DO:
We are 1.5 miles from Okehampton with all the amenities of a small country town such as cinema, banks, supermarkets,farm shops with excellent local produce, cafes & restaurants, independent shops and a historic Victorian Arcade with antique shops.
Okehampton has the remains of an ancient castle, once one of the most formidable fortresses in the country, a restored Victorian railway station (good breakfasts here!) & an interesting Museum of Dartmoor Life.
Children love Adventure Okehampton, The Escape Room & Simmons Park.
There are quiet walks direct from the cottage & over 40 nature reserves within easy travelling distance. Ashbury Forest is about a 30 minute walk & Okehampton about 40 minutes.
Ashbury Golf Course is 10 minutes drive away.
You can enjoy walks on Dartmoor, the nearest Dartmoor village is Belstone, about 5 minutes drive away, & visiting the Devon & Cornwall coasts; keen walkers can walk parts of the South West Coast Path as day walks. There are many historic houses, gardens & national trust properties within easy driving distance such as Castle Drogo, Lydford Gorge, Killerton, Heligan, RHS Rosemoor, Lanhydrock, Cotehele & Greenway (home to Agatha Christie).
