Upper Valley Farmhouse and Barns consists of a beautiful classic whitewashed 17th Century Welsh Farmhouse (Cwmwr Uchaf) as well as a traditional stone-built 18th Century Barn that has just been sympathetically renovated to a high standard. Both luxury self-catering cottages are located in a wonderful rural location surrounded by a working farm, offering true peace and quiet and the most wonderful views.

The Farmhouse is a little haven tucked away upon a hillside, in an idyllic, quiet setting with plenty of fresh air and greenery. A perfect rural retreat for a couple or for all the family. The Self Catering Farmhouse and Barns are Dog Friendly. There are no distractions with wi-fi and modern technology as we have actively chosen not to provide it. This is a place to escape to, to get away from all the stresses and pressures of life and truly unwind. There's an amazing collection of rare and antique books dotted around the Farmhouse waiting to be read in front of one of the roaring fires as well as lots of family games to be played, there is also a lovely upright piano if you feel like tinkling the ivories. Wonderful hillside walks start from directly outside the front door and there are plenty of places to visit in the local area.

The beautifully converted Barns are light and airy with exceptional views down and across the valley. Here you can stay connected to the outside world - there is wi-fi throughout. You can relax in the cinema room, in the hot tub or just sit back and listen to music in the drawing room. Many of the rooms retain original features, such as exposed oak beams and each room has been carefully and thoughtfully created to ensure that guests can relax in wonderful surroundings in the utmost comfort.

There are some beautiful local walks directly from the doorstep – up to the top of the mountain and back, over the valley to the local Pub or of course you could just stay put, stoke up the fire and relax with a good book.

There are so many things to do within easy driving distance of the Farmhouse and Barns, for example the lovely Lake Vyrnwy & Vyrnwy Falls are about 10 minutes drive away, Snowdonia National Park is close by, Llanraeadr Falls, Chirk Castle about 27 miles drive and Powis Castle about a 45 minute drive away to name a few. Why can't I call Caroline (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Caroline (the owner) a message.

If Caroline (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
