The West Country / Cornwall region:
Polzeath is ideally situated to explore the West Country. The Eden Project is only about 50 minutes away. The famous Royal Cornwall Show in June is a fantastic event that takes place in Wadebridge only 15 minutes away.5 minutes on the ferry across the Estuary takes you to Padstow where you can find Rick Steins Restaurants and many other places to eat and shop. Port Isaac is only 8 miles away and is the traditional fishing village made famous by the TV program "Doc Martin". Or why not visit Tintagel where the legend of King Arthur lives on. Cornwall is known for its milder climate and stunning coastal scenery.
The Polzeath area:
Polzeath has one of the best surfing beaches with its golden sand and surf schools and lots of rock pools for the kids to play in. With lovely restaurants and cafes situated around the beach where you can watch the sun set into the ocean in the evenings over a glass of wine. There are many activities to enjoy including the renowned St. Enodoc golf course, sailing and water skiing on the Camel Estuary, windsurfing at Daymer Bay. Dining at the 2 Michelin Star "Restaurant Nathan Outlaw". Relaxing and being pampered in one of the local Spas or take a bike ride along the stunning Camel Trail. The Camel Estuary provides some of the best bird watching opportunities in Cornwall. The local Rock Oyster Festival takes place in June and has an array of culinary delights with local produce and restaurateurs and with entertainment for all the family. From the cottage you can walk straight onto the coastal walks around to Daymer Bay where John Betjeman spent his holidays and is now buried here at the picturesque St. Enodoc church.
