We have a selection of single, twin / double bedded rooms, Family Rooms & a self-contained apartment available at our holistic centre in Donamon, Co.Roscommon, Southern Ireland. This listing is for a bedroom with 2 single beds. It is available for single occupancy or up to 2 people sharing. If you require alternate size accommodation, please see our other listings or contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to send you a quote.

All bookings are priced on a room only basis.

Check in is 4pm to 7pm. Please contact us if you would like to check in earlier or later and we will endeavour to arrange this for you.

Set in a rural environment it is an ideal location for a relaxing break, a retreat, a walking holiday or as a stop-over whilst exploring Ireland. We are a short walk from the river Suck (making it an attractive location for a fishing holiday) and Donamon Castle.

Guests have use of the facilities including our hall with a comfortable relaxation lounge area, kitchenette area where guests can make themselves hot & cold drinks, our quiet room for relaxation and reflection plus a wide selection of self-help, well-being and motivational books from our library.

Our aim is to create a tranquil and peaceful environment away from the busyness of modern life. For this reason there are no telivsions, radios, WiFi etc.

Please note that whilst all bedrooms have electric heaters, the communal area is heated by a solid fuel stove. We provide a 'starter pack' of fuel and coal, wood etc., can be purchased locally or we can provide this (additional charge applies).

Although we are situated in a tranquil, rural location we are a short drive from Roscommon town (approx 17km) and a number of tourist attractions such as Strokestown Famine Museum, Athlone (where you can take a boat trip down the River Shannon, take in a show at the Deane Theatre and avail of the shopping in the town centre).

We are just a short walk away from Donamon Castle and the River Suck and local attractions include Castlecoote House, Roscommon Arts Centre a number of fishing spots and scenic walks.

You are free to come and go as you please and to use the communal facilities at your leisure. We ask that you clean up any crockery etc. that you may use in the kitchenette located in the main hall / relaxation area and leave all areas in a clean and tidy state after use.

We ask that you respect the privacy of any other guests and that if you are coming or going between the hours of 10pm - 8am that you avoid making any noise that would unduly disturb others.

We thank Thomas for his review and are pleased that Thomas identified that the accommodation was suitable for his purpose and he and his child enjoyed their stay. However, we are surprised by some comments, which we feel are not a fair reflection, as follows: 'No Heating in Bathroom' - All of our bathrooms have heating, so we are confused about this comment? 'Insufficient Electrical Sockets' - The bedroom has four electrical sockets and there are 4 sockets in the kitchenette area and 10 sockets in the general living area. 'A large living room full of single pieces of furniture, as on the flea market' - The living space is very large and we have created separate sitting spaces with the aim of giving choice. The furniture consists of suites of 2 and 3 seat settees with different colour themes and some matching tub chairs that were purchased new, all of which are in good condition, therefore we are confused by his comment. 'Refrigerator, which is not defrosted and which probably no one cleans' - The refrigerator is cleaned on a weekly basis and was not iced up in any way. Thomas did not raise any issue about the fridge, which he used to store food throughout his stay. In his review, Thomas makes a comparrison between our place and the "Clai Ban" Guest House that he stayed in on the Arran Islands, suggesting the standard was better there. We feel that this is an unreasonable comparrison as the "Clai Ban" charge approximately between €100 to €120 per night for the use of a bedroom with breakfast included, whereas at our place Thomas paid €206 for 5 nights stay (€41.20 per night). In addition, at our place he had full use of the kitchen and lounge and garden area and was able to cook meals on a self catering basis (which he did on a regular basis) - something that was not available at "Clai Ban". Therefore, the comparison is, we feel, an unrelistic one.
