Above and behind the house is National Trust Land with direct access." Gallants Bower" is a famous local walk leading to hidden coves and sandy beaches. The Pottery has a wonderful communal area used for car parking and for children to play out and scoot about on scooters and bikes. Parental supervision is a must. There is a small infrequently used road alongside the Pottery development where you can directly access the creek and thereon the River Dart. Our children run down to feed the ducks, watch for seals and picnic there on summer nights. Watching the boats returning in the evening with the light on the water is a favourite pastime. You can walk to Dartmouth Castle in under 5 minutes from the house. Catch a ferry into town for shopping or eating and catch a water taxi home at night if you don't fancy the walk home. The road to the town runs above the river Dart along a well trodden pavement and the moon on the water on the way home at night is a special experience.
