The Hayloft is one of 3 cottages within Crabwood Cottages. It has been tastefully converted with fabulous views over rolling fields and forest, perfect for couples or overnight business trips.

The Hayloft is situated right on a bridleway leading to wonderful woodland and rolling countryside and offers beautiful walks and cycle routes right on your doorstep.

For those on an overnight business trip, a continental breakfast will be supplied to include fresh coffee, tea, fresh fruit, croissants, fruit juice, jam, butter and milk. Basic toiletries will also be supplied.

The location of this accommodation makes it an ideal base to explore the South of England enabling easy access to the magnificent cathedral cities of Winchester, only a few miles away and Salisbury with all their award winning pubs and restaurants, local market towns of Stockbridge and Romsey, the New Forest with all it has to offer and even Isle of Wight, London and Bath are accessible as day trips.

The accommodation itself has a kitchen/dining/sitting area downstairs leading up to a large open plan lounge/bedroom area with a shower room off. There is also a pool/snooker table if you fancy it and a stunning balcony area where you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and try to spot the frequently seen buzzards flying overhead, as the sun falls behind the distant hills. There is also an outdoor eating area on the veranda off the kitchen, again overlooking rolling countryside.

WARNING - as can be seen in the photos, there are low beams on either side of the room upstairs.

There is a community-run village shop within 1/2 mile and The Plough, an excellent pub/restaurant within 3/4 mile. The village is also lucky to have Lainston House Country Hotel just down the road, providing a perfect venue for a special afternoon tea or early evening cocktail!!

The Hayloft could be rented together with The Old Tractor Barn, perfect for family gatherings perhaps where Granny and Grandpa could escape for some peace and quiet, but still be close to the action when required! Also if you have young children, we can set up sleepover beds/travel cots - there is plenty of floor area! Or, even better, make a den up under the pool table - heaven for the little ones!!

I live right next door so am available to answer any questions, most of the time! Check in is a very simple procedure and once I have said "Hello", I try to leave guests to enjoy their time away without interruption!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Debbie (the owner) a message.

If Debbie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
