The Dovecote Barns comprises 4 self-contained five-star barns with 11 all ensuite bedrooms and group gathering and dining in the Long Hall venue which is fully equipped for up to 22 guests to fine dine together.

Catering options from ready meals to private chef available and the site is a green business using only renewable technologies.

Awarded the Silver runner up prize in the 2023 Visit England Awards for Excellence, the barns have consistently provided excellent customer service.

The barns are in a rural setting very close to York city centre with easy access to all motorways and train services. Public buses run from the barns to York city centre, but to explore the Yorkshire countryside fully, a car is advised.

The Dovecote Barns are ideal for groups, whether three generation families getting together, groups of couples celebrating a significant birthday, preparing for a wedding event, or just getting away from it all.

Once your booking has been made, you will have access to an online information system telling you everything you need to know inc what is in your welcome basket, numbers for taxis, bus timetable, local pubs and restaurants, local attractions etc Before arrival, we ask of you what homemade bread you would like making for your welcome basket as well as your choice of Prosecco, wine or juice. These, along with breakfast produce will be waiting for you in each barn on arrival. You will also be given details of a private chef and/or home cooked ready meals to be placed in your fridge on arrival. We ask that you text us when you are a half hour away from arrival so that we are here to greet you personally and guide you around the barns.
