We’re glad you found the cottage so roomy and to your liking with everything you needed but we are sorry you found the road quite busy. I think you must have holidayed when there were road works on the B class road going to the next village and traffic was diverted to ‘our’ wee road to avoid delays. Normally we wouldn’t describe it as busy and many of our guests comment how peaceful and quiet it is. The cottage also is equipped with automatic outside security lights but perhaps they had been accidently turned off.

We deliberately chose not to install a dishwasher due to the waste water / chemicals entering the septic tank, space restrictions and the romantic notion of hand-washing our dishes but appreciate that does not suit everyone. It's something we will reconsider although you will have been provided with dish towels and washing up liquid.
The driveway looks a little tight on approach although my wife has no problem getting in and out, backwards or forwards with her Range Rover. I even reverse my boat in on occasions! It's much easier if you reverse in so I will add that advice to the housekeeping info.

It is incredibly rewarding when I hear guests have had a great stay and I am delighted that you all were able to make the most of the house.
I'm smiling at the thought of the children playing a lengthy game of hide and seek in the house, as my children used to do the same. I love being able to cater for children and provide the craft room for them to paint and make things in. I love welcoming them to their holiday home and then seeing them smile when I show them around. They deserve more than just a standard holiday house, that there may be nothing to do apart from watch TV.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and thank you again for choosing to stay with us, especially for a special occasion. Your opinion and comments are valuable and listened to by many. They are important to me so that I can adapt to guests requirements when necessary and give them the service they require. I am delighted that your comments are praise worthy, but more than anything Barbara, I am happy that your Christmas was a success that will be remembered appreciatively by you and your extended family. There is always a bit of pressure on the person that has chosen the holiday accommodation as they feel responsible for every other guests happiness. You would have had this on your mind prior to the event, and also planned the catering for this and a Christmas dinner for seventeen. Whilst I knew the house was not going to disappoint, and that I was going to do whatever I could to help, you would still have had other worries about the success of it. Its fair to say that you would have done well by hosting a meal for seventeen in your own home, but to manage this whilst on a holiday, is a great achievement. Co ordinating 96 year old grannies and other relatives to come and join you is another. That is incredible and very well done Barbara.

I am sorry we didn't meet in person too. I had lit the log fire, put the Christmas lights on, the candles on the fire mantle, then dimmed the main lights so that you could see these through the window as you arrived. I was looking forward to seeing what I new would be relief on your face! I am sorry that our timings didn't allow for this, but maybe another time.

The latch was put at the top of the gate to make the garden safe for children but we will certainly look at making access easier for adults, so that you won't need to rule out a summer visit.
