Traditional detached stone cottage, sympathetically and rather luxuriously refurbished in recent years to a very high standard. Penybryn is the perfect location for those looking for that special rural retreat experience. Set in a commanding position overlooking the Cader Idris and Aran mountain ranges, three miles from the historical town of Dolgellau, 20 minutes drive to the hugely popular Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre and Precipice Walk and 25 minutes from the beaches at Barmouth and Fairbourne. Excellent walking, cycling (Sustrans cycling route 8 runs parallel to the house) and fishing. Narrow gauge railways, castles, beaches, just up the road from the historical market town of Dolgellau. Short breaks welcome, Saturday changeover for weekly stays, Friday or other changeover days possible for off season short breaks. More information on the website - please check prices with owner. Detached house and large, private garden with shrubs, two benches and all-weather wicker furniture. Barbecue also. Glorious mountain and valley views. Easy walking and cycling right from the house, along surfaced lanes (Sustrans cycle route 8 runs along the valley). Sheep and cattle in adjacent fields. Enclosed if gate is shut, dry stone walls and fencing all around house. Ample parking. Lovely refurbished pub only 15 minutes cross country along public footpath. Storage for bicycles in attached garage.

Had an excellent stay. The cottage is beautiful clean and tidy with everything you would need. lots of wildlife to keep up busy not to mention the fast jets as well. Hope to come again soon.

Why can't I call GWERFYL (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If GWERFYL (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
