This charming 7 double bedroom historic house in West Stockwell Street, "perhaps the most attractive street in Colchester" (Nikolas Pevsner, The Buildings of England 1954). The building dates back to 1600 with later additions in the Georgian period.

We are just steps away from the High Street shops, restaurants and, Colchester Castle and its beautiful landscaped park grounds. Also close by are the museums and First Site Gallery as well as the Mercury Theatre, Arts Centre. We are only a short ride to Colchester Zoo, the general hospital, Essex University, West Mersea and the beautiful Constable Country.

Here is a run down of the bedrooms .All beds are made up with linen, plus towels We have 5 dbls on the first floor with desks, chairs wardrobes and tv"s, three at the front and two at the back. Rooms are all large sizes Sea room ..Queen bed plusa sofabed that folds down to 1 or 2 single beds. We must respect the peace and quiet of our neighbours so guests will be quiet when arriving and leaving the house and when in the garden return inside the house at 10pm. This is an agreement of the booking as is strict recycling♻️Be aware there are doorways with low heights and uneven floors/paths and guests are responsible for their safety. Guests are responsible for the safety of their children.❗️Do not leave the doors open to the street.

A pleasure to host ..Sarah and friends are the nicest of guests, good liaison and arrived following directions without getting lost around Colchester's tricky town centre system. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Anne (the owner) a message.

If Anne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
