From the owner

Thornbank Cottage is a cozy semi-detached cottage dating from the 1760's in the heart of the historic Borders village of Coldingham on the Berwickshire coast. Our home is a perfect place for a family holiday or for a group of friends to explore one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.

The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is warm and comfortable with double glazing, underfloor heating, radiators and a log burning stove in the sitting room.

Upstairs there is accommodation for four guests in two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one with two single beds. There is also a new bathroom with bath and power shower.

Downstairs is a sitting room with log burning stove and smart TV, with Freesat. Comfortable sofas seat six. After a hard day at the beach or walking you can relax with a film, a family board game or keep up to date with friends and family through the Wifi internet. The kitchen / dining room is fully equipped, including fridge freezer, oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine plus a dining table for up to six guests. There is a high chair available, plus a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs.

There is also a south facing sun-room, with chaise longue, arm chairs and a beanbag. This room leads to the secluded south facing patio garden with seating for outdoor eating and relaxing. The rear garden has a shed and storage area for bikes or for cleaning wetsuits or surfboards. At the front is a sunny garden and there is also off street parking.

All linen and towels are provided, but you should bring your own towels for the beach. There are also the basics you need to cater for yourselves such as olive oil, salt and pepper etc. All we ask is that you replace anything you use.

If you would like to have groceries delivered to the cottage after you have arrived, then Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco all deliver. So, just order your shopping on line and it will arrive while you are settling in.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Milda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
