Our holiday cottage in Hay on Wye, the World Book Centre, home of the internationally acclaimed Hay Festival, is available for rent There is always a real buzz in Hay. Set near the centre of Hay on Wye this quiet cottage is within 200 yards of pubs, restaurants and the River Wye. The Wye Valley Walk passes the front door. 200 yards down the road you are in open countryside on the Offa's Dyke Walk. The cottage has recently been tastefully completely refurbished as our second home, primarily for our own use. There is a kitchen/diner, that will seat 4 people, which is fully equipped with all crockery and utensils, a cooker, microwave and fridge. There is a reception room with a wood burning stove, two 2 seater sofas and TV with built in DVD player. There is a stone paved patio area with antique garden furniture and a cottage garden. The cottage has a spacious main bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bed side tables with reading lights. The second bedroom has a single bed. The bathroom contains a shower cubicle, toilet, wash basin & heated towel rail. Linen and towels provided. Coal & wood available if you want to supplement the central heating with an open fire. Free car park approx 200 yards away. Recent comments from guests include "We enjoyed the stay at your cottage so much I know we will be a frequent visitors. I hope all is well with you." DB-Somerset. Wales was not closed at the time of this booking, John chose not to come and cancelled at very short notice, thus depriving us of the opportunity to re-book. Despite the short notice I offered to honour the full amount paid at anytime in the future, less a £25 administration fee. Unfortunately this review is not an accurate account of what happened, we unfailingly treat our guests with respect and do everything in our power to resolve any issues that may arise.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Roy (the owner) a message.

If Roy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
