This very attractive and well appointed cottage has everything you would need to accommodate a large family for a week or short break.

The lounge room is substantial and is bright and sunny with a large picture window. The log burning stove is a great addition which will be cosy for those dark, cold nights. There is a 37″ plasma television with freeview and a DVD player.

The cottage has four bedrooms, 2 of which are downstairs, one is a double and one is a twin room. Upstairs there is a twin room with a master en-suite double bedroom. The cottage has a bathroom and shower room on ground floor which adjoins to the utility room (with washing machine) with the en-suite shower room upstairs.

All beds will be made up for your arrival. The cottage has double glazing throughout and has oil central heating with radiators in each room.

Pets are allowed but we must be informed at time of booking.

We are rural enough that we can enjoy the dark skies, as you have mentioned, but we are centrally located for all the different activities/attractions that Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. I take your points on board regarding the steps and in particular the door mat recess. I appreciate this could be a problem and I will deal with it as soon as possible. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Donald (the owner) a message.

If Donald (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
