From the owner

Reedsmere is a pretty, South facing three bedroomed detached cottage situated on the North East riverbank of Potter Heigham offering a tranquil setting with stunning riverside and countryside views. This property has an large open plan kitchen/dining/living room with a leather corner sofa and one arm chair, TV/DVD player and fan. There is direct access via the French doors to your own private sun deck with table and chairs offering far reaching views overlooking the River Thurne and the open countryside beyond.

The cottage sleeps 6 guests across three bedrooms, the master bedroom offers beautiful views and a double bed, the second bedroom is a compact space with bunk beds ideal for children, the third offers another double bed. There is also a family bathroom with shower.

The kitchen includes a microwave and is fully equipped with everything you may need to make your stay feel like home. Reedsmere also includes an iron and ironing board.

Outside the cottage, you will find mooring for one boat and a secure shed ideal for storing bikes.

Parking for one car is available approximately 7-8 min walk from the property.

Free WiFi is available for the duration of your stay and guests receive 25% off day boat hire with Herbert Woods.

Pet Policy

For your well-behaved pet’s safety and the consideration of all guests, we do ask that dogs and their owners follow a few simple rules during their stay:

Pets must not be left unattended in the holiday property.

Pets are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture or soft furnishings. We would advise you to bring along a pet bed to make sure your four-legged family member is as comfy as you are while on holiday.

Pets must be supervised at all times both inside and out of the property. Since most of our properties are close to open water frontage, and may not be fenced completely, pets should be kept on a lead outside at all times.

Please clean up after your pet, both inside and outside of the property.

Dear Mr and Mrs Stevens, I am sorry hear that you felt that not enough was done to ensure a good stay and that these issues were not dealt with to your satisfaction. In response to some oil being found we would normally expect ourselves or the cleaners to be notified and they would have come and dealt with it immediately, we were told afterwards and not told about any oil on clothing, the cleaners had not seen any oil when they left after cleaning so this must have come from a bin bag left by others. We were unaware of any clothing damage. Mr Stevens called us with an issue with the toilet, we had been having problems with it but it did flush. The husband said this was not mega urgent as it flushed with the lid off. We tried to get a plumber out who could not gain access so we came and mended it quickly ourselves. I feel there is some lack of communication here as the Mr Stevens told us everything was fine clearly from this Mrs Stevens was not happy, I am disappointed that the clients were not happy after we allowed them use of facilities such as the boat house, washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer that were usually private as they were long time repeat customers. I would like to point out that the accommodation had been significantly improved since they visited with a previous owner with new wiring, oven, sink, shower, furniture and decorating throughout. If this had been such an issue why wait four months to make a public complaint, why not contact us directly to discuss it? This is not how we want our customers to feel after a visit, we supplied wine, beer and biscuits as a welcome gift for special long time repeat customers, so we disagree that this was not a personal service you received.

How do damage deposits work?
