Featured in The Times "50 Great British Beach Escapes"- 25th April 2015, “Driftwood” is a charming, end of terrace, two-bedroom house in the pretty town of Seaford on the Sussex coast. Located directly on the esplanade with unspoilt views overlooking Seaford bay, it is decorated in fresh, neutral shades and furnished with simple, yet comfortable New England style furniture. It features a courtyard-style beach garden which links to a large decked terrace, perfect for enjoying a cocktail at sunset or for al-fresco dining. A large garage at the back of the house allows for safe storage of bikes or surfing equipment.The interior of the house is comfortable and cosy, with bare-wood floors and white walls which frame the stunning view. The open-plan reception room includes an area for relaxing or watching a movie on the 39inch flatscreen Smart TV equipped with complimentary Netflix and BT Sport. The house has free WiFI for those who like to stay in touch.There is a round-farmhouse style dining table for four and a fully-equipped kitchen with washing machine, fridge/freezer, micro-wave and breakfast bar. Upstairs on the second floor are two bright and airy double bedrooms. The “ shabby chic style” master bedroom boasts a spectacular ocean view and is furnished with a king-size bed and double wardrobe. The second bedroom overlooks the town and features two twin beds and ample storage. Crisp white linen and nautical stripes create a chic, contemporary look.There is a family bathroom with WC, basin and bath which is fitted with a shower mixer and overhead shower. Linen and towels are provided and gas central heating is fitted throughout. Sleeps up to 4 ( a collapsible guest bed is available for a 5th guest)Pets welcome with prior arrangement.“Driftwood” is in an excellent location, being only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Seaford town with its diverse range of shops and restaurants, including the excellent “Trawlers” for fantastic fish and chips. “ Olivers” a small family run restaurant offers a more discerning choice of menu and there is also a good selection of tea shops for cream tea lovers.Seaford is surrounded by stunning scenery, villages and countryside and is very popular with hikers. Nearby is the famous Seven Sisters, whose seven cliffs form part of the Seven Sisters County Park at Cuckmere Haven and which starts at the end of the beach, just a few hundred metres from the property.

Driftwood is situated in a residential area and guests are kindly asked to keep noise levels acceptable in order to respect our neighbours. We do welcome single guests and some pets but reserve the right to terminate a stay should the house be mistreated.

Why can't I call Mike / Simone (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mike / Simone (the owner) a message.

If Mike / Simone (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
