Sir Stuarts House is a large modern house on the edge of Fingask Lake.

The car park is across a small stream that runs along the side of the house with a bridge and paved path leading to the house, a ramp leads into a large porch with coat hooks and seating for removing boots and shoes, a trolley is supplied for heavy luggage. There is a a generous kitchen/dining/sitting room on the ground floor,and an open fire (logs provided), two three/four seater sofas, one two seater sofa and two arm chairs. The dining table seats 14 and there is a bathroom with a toilet and hand basin. A utility room contains a small chest freezer and washer/dryer. The kitchen has a large fridge, electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, there is also an Aga type cooker for those who would like an alternative way of cooking. Along the corridor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room (suitable for low level disability - there is a step into the shower), toilet (with retractable hand rails) and hand basin.

Upstairs there are four twin bedrooms, three with en-suite bathrooms, containing showers, toilets and hand basins, a family bathroom containing a bath, toilet and hand basin is next door to the fourth bedroom. Also upstairs is a sitting area with an additional single occasional bed and a single bunk type bed, overlooking the lake.

Sir Stuarts House has oil fired heating, the instructions for which are on the counter next to the Aga cooker.

Outside Sir Stuart's back door is the Bothy which is available, for an additional cost, if your group has more than 12 guests. It is a twin bedroom (2 single beds) and ensuite shower room, with toilet and hand basin. The Bothy has electric heating. If you require use of the Bothy please discuss/reserve this with us in advance.

The lake is particularly dangerous with only a small fence below the house, please take care of small children when staying here.

Please pick up any dog mess, bag it securely and put it in the bin. Pets should be under control and on leads when walking around the grounds. Please be respectful of wildlife throughout estate. Do not disturb the swans or ducks on the lake, they can be aggressive especially when they have young.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Arlene F or Andrew (the owner) a message.

If Arlene F or Andrew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
